Russian House in Baku has hosted a concert dedicated to the 83rd
anniversary of the start of the Great Patriotic War,
Azernews reports.

The event was co-organised by the Baku Music Academy and the
Russian House in Baku.

At the opening, Bishop Alexy of Baku and Azerbaijan addressed
the assembled public with a welcoming speech.

The presenter and curator of the event, Doctor of Philosophy in
Art History, senior lecturer at Baku Music Academy Alena Inyakina,
shared with the audience information about the most important
battles of the Great Patriotic War, about the contribution of the
Azerbaijani people to the common victory over fascism.

Missouri’s National Veterans Memorial to host National Vietnam War Veterans Day event

PERRYVILLE, Mo. (KFVS) – Missouri’s National Veterans Memorial (MNVM) in Perryville is set to host a day dedicated to Vietnam veterans.

Organizers are inviting the public to welcome home Vietnam veterans during the National Vietnam War Veterans Day event at the memorial.

The event will take place on Friday, March 29 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Refreshments will be served in the event room.

Visitors can view the history of the Vietnam War through exhibits at the museum and remember the 58,281 men and women who never came home by reading their names on the memorial’s Vietnam Wall.

MNVM volunteers, who are Vietnam veterans will be available on the campus to answer questions and to share their time in the service.

Tokens of remembrance to lay at the Vietnam Wall are welcome.

Mentor Public Library hosting talk on Civil War female spies – News-Herald

Discover the stories of Southern women who spied for the Confederacy during the newest Leaders and Legacies of the Civil War lecture at noon, March 13 at Mentor Public Library’s Main Branch, 8215 Mentor Ave.

Michelle Seddon of James A. National Garfield Historic Site will explain how these women gathered intelligence, shared that information with Confederate leaders, and what happened to them after the war.
