GoDaddy’s new tool lets you accept payments without an online store or website

Domain registrar and web hosting (opens in new tab) company GoDaddy has launched a new system that allows business owners to register a new domain and start accepting payments from customers instantly.

Payable Domains are branded pay links that create a checkout page, shareable via a link, that lets US-based domain name customers begin accepting payments shortly after they purchase a newly registered domain.

Malware caused the recent website redirects issue, says GoDaddy

Popular web domain name service provider GoDaddy has confirmed that intermittent redirects were happening on seemingly random websites hosted on its cPanel shared hosting servers. 

After receiving customer complaints in December 2022 about their websites being intermittently redirected, GoDaddy investigated and found that an unauthorized third party had gained access to servers in its cPanel shared hosting environment and installed malware which led to the intermittent redirection of customer websites. The situation has been remediated and security measures implemented to prevent future infections.

Hostinger quietly shutters Zyro to focus on Hostinger Website Builder service

Popular web hosting (opens in new tab) provider Hostinger (opens in new tab) has begun shifting its website builder efforts away from its subsidiary, Zyro, following the launch of its new eponymous competing service.

Founded in 2019, Zyro (opens in new tab) has – for over three years – been the platform parent company Hostinger has pushed to the frontline when website building services are needed.
