Multi-millionaire tech entrepreneur Lawrence Jones has been found guilty of raping two women in Manchester in the 1990s.

The former UKFast chief executive was convicted in January this year of sexually assaulting another woman in 2013, which could not be reported until today because of court restrictions.

He has already spent 10 months behind bars after being remanded in custody earlier this year following that conviction.

But the 55-year-old is expected to be sentenced for all three offences on 1 December following the conclusion of a second trial.

Jones, who set up the web hosting provider with his wife Gail in 1999, was once considered one of the most influential technology magnates in the UK with an estimated wealth of about £700m, according to the Financial Times.

Imelda May to host walking tour remembering women of 1916 Rising

Singer and actress Imelda May is to host a walking tour of key sites associated with women who participated in the 1916 Easter Rising.

The Dublin tour, which will be delivered by historians Liz Gillis and Honor O Brolchain, also aims to raise awareness of Moore Street residents’ plan to develop a Cultural Quarter in the area.

May said she was “delighted” to host the tour on October 14.

She said: “Moore Street is a very important part of our built history and our revolutionary history.

“We want to do this on behalf of the women that were involved in the Rising and hopefully save this place from yet another developer, who it doesn’t feel like cares much for our history.

Cork is hosting a ‘pioneering’ sex and well-being conference for LBTQ + women

Q Con: a pioneering, unique event dedicated to the sexual health and well-being of LBTQ + women, will take place in Cork this September, with a host of experts landing on Leeside to take part.

The first conference of its kind in Ireland, the organisers hope to lead the way toward an authentic exploration of sexual health and well-being, health inequities, and to contribute to positive queer visibility with a weekend full of discussions and workshops running across Saturday and Sunday, September 16th and 17th at MTU Cork School of Music on Union Quay.
