Palworld, the first mega-hit game of 2024, is finally gaining one of the most requested features for players on Xbox platforms. Available now via the Xbox Insider program, Palworld’s new preview update brings dedicated servers to the cooperative survival game.

“Pocketpair has been hard at work and are now ready to deliver the much-requested dedicated server feature to all Palworld Update Preview participants on both Xbox and Windows,” says today’s surprise announcement. “Players can now connect to both Official and Community Dedicated Servers.”

Last week, Xbox provided an update on the mega-successful Palworld and how the team was helping out with the Game Pass phenomenon – and a new post from the developer’s CEO explains why this may be necessary.

Taking to Twitter, Pocketpair’s Takuro Mizobe joked about the server costs for Palworld, and how the team could “go bankrupt” by keeping the servers running.

Palworld, named by its famous name for its enemies’ similar style and patterns – has experienced an incredible rise in the 3 weeks since it went public. It became one of world’s biggest gaming history with which multiplayer is now known as “Pokemon”. Since the argument that Palworld is not a rip-off of Pokemon remains to be debated among fans and Nintendo’s lawyers, what could still lie? The game has gone on its impressive success in terms for which it earned Microsoft support moving forward.

In a recent post in Xbox Wire, it announced that Microsoft will work with Pocketpair to assist developers of Palworld in developing the necessary resources.

The new survival adventure has a multiplayer function on Xbox Series X|S but it doesn’t have the same set-up as it does on Steam. You can invite friends to join so up to four players can survive, fight and collect Pals together however, there is one key difference. Xbox does not support dedicated servers at the moment and it doesn’t look like it will happen any time soon.
