NPP Youth wing to host the prestigious IYDU Council Meeting in Accra


The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Youth wing has announced that it will host the International Young Democrat Union (IYDU) Council meeting from June 27th to June 30th, 2024, at the Alisa Hotel in Accra, Ghana.

The IYDU, which the NPP Youth Wing is a member, is a global alliance of centre-right political youth organisations dedicated to promoting freedom, democracy, and human rights.

This year’s council meeting, themed “Global Challenges, Conservative Solutions: Building a More Secure and Prosperous Future,” will gather young political leaders from around the world to discuss critical issues, share best practices, and build networks that strengthen democratic values.

Muslim youth group, Canadian Blood Services hosting donor event


Event will take place Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Maryam Mosque, located on Line 7 South

Muslim youth from the Simcoe County area will be attending the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association’s blood-drive event Saturday in Oro-Medonte.

The event will take place June 15 from 10:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the Maryam Mosque, located at 110 Line 7 S., north of Barrie.

“Continuing its long-standing partnership with the Canadian Blood Services, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association will undertake a nationwide initiative to donate blood for Canadians in critical need,” states a news release.

Legends for Kids hosting free youth sports clinics and camps June 4-7


SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – Legends for Kids is hosting free youth sports clinics and camps this week.

This is the 25th anniversary for the program.

Workshops to help youth navigate complex emotions are taking place in wildfire-ravaged areas in the B.C. Interior.

Be the Change Earth Alliance has announced new CARE (Climate, Action, Resilience and Emotions) programs with accompanying workshops aimed at B.C. students, teachers, and communities affected by wildfires.

The Vancouver-based organization is working in collaboration with UBC’s Climate Hub to offer the series of workshops, focusing on navigating difficult emotions induced by climate change and fostering resilience and action, reads a media release.

First meeting of Shared Island Youth Forum takes place in Dublin


EIGHTY young people from across Ireland are meeting for the first time to give their views as part of the new Shared Island Youth Forum.

The inaugural meeting of the forum is taking place in Dublin Castle on today, with 40 young people from the north, and 40 from the Republic.

The forum is part of the Shared Island Initiative to encourage co-operation in Ireland and build a shared future, and the young representatives, aged between 18 and 25, reflect “gender, ethnic, community, faith and other identity diversities”.
