Martin Luther King, Jr. monument, park dedication on Saturday in Savannah

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) – A visual way to honor Martin Luther King, Jr. will be unveiled Saturday in Savannah.

A bronze monument and a park will officially be dedicated to Dr. King on Saturday at 2 p.m. on the Savannah riverfront at the Plant Riverside District.

The bust was approved by the King family and will be the first monument to honor the late Dr. King in the City of Savannah.

The sister-in-law of Dr. King, Dr. Naomi King will be at the unveiling at 2 p.m. and following that will be in attendance of a showing of a documentary Rev. A.D. King Brother to the Dreamer at the Savannah Civic Center. The event is open to the public but due to social distancing they can only have 100 people so you must pre-register.

Phoenix vintage boutique, Wicker Goddess, started with a wedding plan

Sarah Small, owner of Wicker Goddess, was featured on Good Morning America on Jan. 13.

All Sarah Small wanted was to sell the yellow couch she used for her wedding. 

But one vintage sale on Instagram led to the next. In February 2020, Small opened, “Wicker Goddess,” a store at 16th Street and McDowell Road in Phoenix. 

Three years after launching an Instagram account to sell vintage goods, Small appeared on “Good Morning America” on Thursday, Jan. 13.

Small appeared in a segment of the show paid for by GoDaddy, a Tempe-based company that provides web hosting and other tools for approximately 20 million businesses. Small, who was compensated for the appearance, has used that company’s services since she launched her store.

Amazon EC2 Hpc6a Instances, Optimized for High-Performance Computing, Are Now Generally Available

Recently, AWS announced the general availability (GA) of Amazon EC2 Hpc6a Instances. With these instances, the company expands its portfolio of HPC compute options.

Earlier in November 2021, the company pre-announced the Hpc6a as a new HPC-optimized EC2 instance, which delivers 100 Gbps networking through Elastic Fabric Adapter (EFA) with 96 third-generation AMD EPYC processors (Milan) cores that run at frequencies up to 3.6 GHz and provide 384 GB of memory. With the GA of the instance, customers can efficiently run compute-intensive, high-performance computing (HPC) workloads, such as computational fluid dynamics, reservoir modeling, weather simulations, and finite element analysis.

TLDR bill could make website terms of service easier to understand

Democrat and Republican lawmakers makers are backing a proposed ‘TLDR Act’ that aims to simplify overly complicated terms of service agreements on websites. 

It also aims to force companies to reduce the burden on consumers of reading and agreeing to complicated statements regarding how their data will be used. 

The Terms-of-service Labeling, Design, and Readability Act or the ‘TLDR Act’ would require websites to offer a summary statement of their terms of service (ToS). TLDR refers to the popular acronym ‘too long, didn’t read’.
