Sir Mick Jagger and Jimmy Fallon are among the stars who have been soaking in the last of the 2024 Olympic action. The Rolling Stones frontman posted a photo to Instagram on Sunday of him posing beside talk show host Fallon and French swimmer Leon Marchand, who has picked up four gold medals in Paris. Alongside the post, Sir Mick wrote: “What a great Olympic Games! When it comes to celebrations, the Greater Vallejo Recreation District is borrowing a line from the late artist Prince. Let’s go crazy. GVRD will host a free afternoon party at Blue Rock Springs Park from 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday to commemorate 80 Years of Service to the community. The district was formally recognized and legally authorized in a resolution on June 14, 1944. “We may be octogenarians now, but we still know how to party” the organization said in a news release this week. There will be live music in the park by “The Purple Ones” a Prince tribute band that may or may not play the previously mentioned song, as well as Foreverland Band (a Michael Jackson tribute band). TRENTON — The City of Trenton Department of Health and Human Services is excited to announce the Summer Lead Awareness Series: Back to School Edition, a community event aimed at raising awareness about the risks of lead exposure as families prepare for the upcoming school year. The event will take place on Saturday, August 10, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Cadwalader Park in the Blacktop Area near the Museum. Residents of Trenton are encouraged to bring household items that they or their children use daily for onsite lead testing. A video is being shared widely on social media with a false claim it shows genuine coverage of Paris Olympic events being censored on Iranian broadcasts. In the footage being shared, women are shown competing in events, including high jump, hurdles, and diving, with parts of their body obscured by superimposed black rectangles and stars. But the clip, which has been circulating on Facebook and X (formerly Twitter), with the caption: “this is how Iran broadcasts the Olympics”, is not a genuine Iranian broadcast of the Olympics.
