Two avid supporters of the Dyersburg – Dyer County Humane Society collected an overwhelming volume of donations for the Shelter totaling $1500.
Shea Childress and Ben Cross started the Shelter Drive as a way for friends, family, and fellow animal enthusiasts to lend a hand. The event was hosted in honor of Sheas 25th birthday.
Shea and Ben have been instrumental volunteers in the growth of the Shelter, hosting numerous annual events, including Volunteer Day. Items collected included 265 heavy-duty trash bags, 550 13-gallon trash bags, 486 lbs. of dogfood, 20 lbs. of dog treats, 48 rolls of paper towels, 5,700 nitrile exam gloves, roughly 8 gallons of laundry detergent, 770 disinfectant wipes, and over 5 gallons of bleach.
