Mayim Bialik won’t be hosting the final week of this season’s “Jeopardy!” episodes in a show of solidarity with the Writers Guild of America strike.
Bialik was slated to host the final episodes of the show’s current season, which are expected to be filmed between May 16 and May 19. Her decision to abstain makes “Jeopardy!” one of the first game shows to be impacted by the ongoing writers strike. The show’s writers are some of thousands in Hollywood that have been striking since May 2 for a fair contract.
Michele Loud, one of the show’s writers, told Variety on May 6, “There is no ‘Jeopardy!’ without writers. Without us, it’s just an empty blue screen.”
However, production on “Jeopardy!” is expected to go on as scheduled with Ken Jennings taking over hosting duties…
