Hank Green, a YouTube star known for his work as a science educator and author, shocked his followers Friday by revealing that he has been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a form of cancer that affects the lymphatic system.

The popular content creator shared his story in a YouTube video, which has already amassed more than 1.5 million views so far.

Green decided to seek medical attention after noticing swollen lymph nodes, which led to additional tests and eventually a biopsy that confirmed the diagnosis.

Ann Arbor fire training center to be dedicated to firefighter who died of cancer

ANN ARBOR, MI – A training center used by firefighters across Washtenaw County is being named after a veteran Ann Arbor firefighter who was key in making it possible.

The Ann Arbor Fire Department is hosting a dedication ceremony Friday, May 7, at the W.R. Wheeler Service Center naming the countywide fire training center the “Craig Sidelinger Fire Training Center” in honor of the training captain who died of cancer earlier this year.

“Craig was instrumental in getting this training center going and it has been valued and used by departments throughout the county,” Ann Arbor Fire Chief Mike Kennedy said.
