Unevidenced claim Labour leader called for ‘more houses’ for asylum seekers recirculates on Facebook

A post claiming Sir Keir Starmer called for “‘more houses to be built’ for asylum seekers and illegal immigrants”, and described “migrants” as “the future of our economy” has been recirculating on Facebook and X (formerly Twitter).

The post, which was first shared on X more than a year ago reads: “Keir Starmer calls for ‘more houses to be built’ for asylum seekers and illegal immigrants – ‘These migrants have to be the priority for the government. They are the future of our economy’ he said”.

The original post includes a link to an interview Mr Starmer gave to BBC News in November 2022. But as we’ve previously explained, Mr Starmer did not say this during the interview, and we’ve found no evidence that he’s called for “more houses to…

Andy Cohen appears unbothered after Leah McSweeney cocaine claim

Andy Cohen seemed to be in good spirits while returning to work Wednesday after Leah McSweeney accused him of doing cocaine with his favorite “Housewives” in a bombshell lawsuit.

The Bravo bigwig posted several photos and videos to his Instagram Story telling his 5.5 million followers that he was preparing to film the “Real Housewives of Potomac” Season 8 reunion.

In one selfie video, Cohen explained that the “RHOP” cast had to arrive to the New York City set at 5 a.m. because they were taping the special in the same building where Sherri Shepherd hosted Vice President Kamala Harris on her talk show, so it was on lockdown.

Page Six obtained a photo of him arriving to the set in New York City. Robert Miller

Video game footage used to falsely claim clip of missile hitting helicopter is in Gaza

Multiple social media posts feature a video claiming to show a man using a shoulder-launched ground-to-air missile to shoot down an Israeli helicopter during the recent conflict in Israel and the Gaza Strip

The clip, which has been shared hundreds of times across Facebook and X (formerly Twitter) is not of a real event. It has been taken from a military simulation game called Arma 3

A higher-quality version of the sequence showing the helicopter being downed was uploaded to YouTube in February 2023, months before the recent hostilities began.

The description attached to the YouTube video states: “It’s Just a Military Simulation. Not Real life.”

Scenes from Arma 3 have previously been used in misleading claims linked to global conflicts. We’ve written

Ericsson and Proptivity claim first with neutral host-led shared indoor 5G radio access

As 5G flourishes in territories around the world, attention is now turning from the outdoor environment to indoors, where reception can be an issue. To address interior connectivity requirements, such as those in retail environments, Ericsson and its partner Proptivity have rolled out what they say is the world’s first neutral host-led shared indoor 5G radio access network (RAN), delivering download speeds of up to 1.2Gbps.

Powered by an Ericsson Radio Dot System, an indoor 5G small cell solution deployed in a central Stockholm property housing a flagship shopping mall and office tenants – a premier property in Östermalmstorg owned and managed by Fastpartner – is said to guarantee high-speed 5G connectivity anywhere in the building, even during peak hours.

It is claimed to…

Images falsely claim to show Titanic sub debris

Hundreds of people have shared a Facebook post with the caption “Here are images of the Debris found of the Titanic Submarine” alongside a picture of a pair of shoes and a sea creature on the ocean floor and other pictures of what appears to be a wrecked vessel on the seabed.

The pictures have emerged following confirmation from authorities that the Titan tourist submersible, which went missing during an expedition to the Titanic shipwreck, had imploded, killing all five on board.

But the image of the shoes does not show debris of the submersible—it was actually taken at the Titanic site almost 20 years ago.

The image appears on the photography website Alamy, with the caption: “This 2004 image provided by the University of Rhode Island’s Institute for…
