Social media posts falsely claim Nicola Bulley’s husband has been arrested and charged with murder

False claims that Paul Ansell, the husband of the late Nicola Bulley, has been arrested or charged with murder have been shared thousands of times on Facebook this month.

Lancashire Police told Full Fact that the information in these posts is “completely false”.

The two posts, both shared to the same so-called “crime news” page on social media, wrongly claim that Mr Ansell was arrested after being spotted on CCTV close to the site where Ms Bulley’s body was found in the River Wyre in Lancashire on 19 February 2023.

The mother-of-two had been reported missing several weeks earlier on 27 January. Ms Bulley’s disappearance gained significant attention both in traditional media outlets and on social media, with her family previously criticising those who…

The Best Cheap Web Hosting Services To Help You Claim A Spot On The Web

We’re feeling a little philosophical, so riddle us this: If a tree falls in the woods, does anyone hear it? And if you don’t have your own website in the ever-crowded wilderness of the world wide web, do you really even exist?

Well, yeah. The answer is obviously yes to both. But, just like that mighty tumbling oak, there will be no one there to marvel at your greatness and sing your praises if you don’t have a nice little corner of the web to promote yourself. Billions of people surf the web every day, all across the world. That means there are billions of potential eyes to discover your talents and thoughts, and just as many potential pockets that may be willing to open if you have a service or product to offer them. So how do you even carve that space out for yourself on the…

‘Anonymous’ hackers claim to hit website hosting firm popular with Proud Boys

The more than 150 gigabytes of data swept up in the breach shine a light on years of online activities from far-right groups, including those who tried to overturn the 2020 presidential election. While researchers are still sifting through the data, Epik has historically provided web hosting services to an array of conspiracy theorists, and for conservative media networks like Parler and Gab.

The breach also undercuts Epik’s pledge to customers that it can safeguard their anonymity, no matter what dangerous conspiracy theories they spread online. For that reason, experts told CNN the hack could have repercussions for how far-right groups organize and try to protect themselves online.

“A breach like this will force some of these actors to find security providers outside of North…

A federal judge today rejected Parler’s motion for a preliminary injunction against Amazon Web Services (AWS), scuttling the social network’s attempt to quickly get back onto Amazon’s Web-hosting platform.

Parler, which bills itself as a conservative alternative to Twitter, had asked for a court order requiring Amazon to reinstate its Web-hosting service pending a full trial. But “Parler has fallen far short… of demonstrating, as it must, that it has raised serious questions going to the merits of its claims,” and it has failed to prove “that the balance of…
