Magenta Marketing Buys Carmel Web Design Firm

Fishers-based Magenta Marketing Communications has acquired Omega Design Studio, a web design and programming firm in Carmel. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The company says the acquisition expands its digital service offerings with capabilities in web hosting, site design, content management systems, custom applications and e-commerce.

Hosting firm scores vital victory in VPN piracy battle

The web hosting company Quadranet has scored a victory in a VPN piracy lawsuit filed by several film companies after a Florida federal court dismissed their complaint with prejudice.

As reported by TorrentFreak, earlier this year a group of independent film companies behind a number of popular films including “London has Fallen”, “Outpost” and “Dallas Buyers Club” not only began targeting site operators and individual pirates but they also started going after VPN providers. During the past few months, the group began suing hosting companies including California-based Quadranet which leases servers to LiquidVPN.

Former Net Virtue staff launch web hosting services firm Click Host – Digital – Services

A number of former staff of Adelaide-based web hosting and domain name service provider Net Virtue has launched a new venture called Click Host.

Net Virtue in August was acquired by Nexigen Digital, the parent of hosting firm VentraIP, to boost the brand’s client base and number of services.

Two of its former employees, chief technical officer Dean Walsh and customer service Adrian Acosta founded Click Host following the acquisition. The company specialises in web hosting, managed WordPress hosting and reseller hosting for consumers ranging from personal bloggers to small and medium-sized businesses.

GoDaddy isn’t the only web hosting firm caught up in mega breach

The recent GoDaddy breach that impacted more than 1.2 million users isn’t limited just to that web hosting company, but affected a whole slew of resellers.

A day after the breach occured, the company announced how tsoHost, Media Temple, 123Reg, Domain Factory, Heart Internet, and Host Europe were also all affected.
