Bieksa is returning to Hockey Night in Canada, Canucks fans are jacked

Kevin Bieksa is staying put at Hockey Night in Canada. The 42-year-old former Vancouver Canucks defenceman shared the good news on Twitter, where wild unfounded rumours had been claiming otherwise.

It comes a day after Ron MacLean said that would be returning next season.

“If Ron MacLean is coming back then so am I,” Bieksa said emphatically, to the delight of Canucks fans in particular.

The news comes in the wake of a report out of Toronto from Howard Berger, who had a source tell him that “only Elliotte Friedman is safe” on the Hockey Night in Canada panel.

Ron MacLean will indeed be back with Hockey Night in Canada next season, despite rumours to the contrary.

The longtime host indicated that he’ll return next season at a recent golf event, according to John Shannon.

That piece of news comes nine days after Howard Berger reported that sweeping changes were likely coming to Hockey Night in Canada next season, and that only Elliotte Friedman was safe.

“We may not recognize the Hockey Night In Canada panel next season,” one source told Berger.

Field Hockey Hosts Monmouth in Pride Game on Sunday

NEW YORK – After traveling to Providence, R.I. on Saturday for an Ivy League clash with Brown, the Lions face a quick turnaround, hosting Monmouth University in a nonconference bout on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. The meeting with the Hawks is the Pride Game for Columbia, celebrating LGBTQ+ History Month. The first 100 fans in attendance get a free PROUD bracelet.

With the foundation of an inaugural Pope Francis girls hockey season set in stone, a handful of local student-athletes are helping the Cardinals build a better tomorrow in the program’s sophomore season.
