How Alan Cumming Built His ‘The Traitors’ Host Character by Acting

In this edition of THR Frontrunners, Emmy-nominated actor and host Alan Cumming opened up — and shared plenty of behind-the-scenes secrets — about Peacock’s smash hit reality competition series The Traitors at a live event hosted by the San Vicente Bungalows in Los Angeles. 

“I feel like it’s a huge acting job,” says Cumming, who scored his fifth Emmy nomination for The Traitors, which also earned a nod for best reality competition series in addition to reality competition host. “I think about it as a character. Obviously it’s me — his name’s Alan Cumming — but obviously it’s not really me. I don’t really sound like that. I don’t dress like that. I don’t have a castle. Alas, that’s too bad.”

Couple attacked by their Bahamas AirBnB host in violent outburst: ‘He just snapped’

A couple has shared the horrifying story of how they were attacked by their Airbnb host with a double edged knife.

Laura Valm and her boyfriend Ryan had been staying at the rental property near Coral Harbour in Nassau, Bahamas last week. 

The property, which averages around $168 a night, is described as being ‘private and peaceful’ but it was nothing like that for the couple, after the host attacked them.

Sharing two TikTok‘s, Valm described how they had booked the property after reading rave reviews but found their host, who they name as Jan, to be strange. 

According to Valm, their host attempted to kill her and her boyfriend and injured a man who works for him with a large double edged blade.

Utah nonprofit to host event dedicated to native plants

PARK CITY, Utah — Save Our Canyons has partnered with Park City Gardens to host an event dedicated to Utah native plants. 

Boost Biodiversity: Native Plants will feature live music, presentations by local nonprofits, and a native plant sale. Park City Gardens will host the event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 18. 

“We’ll have presentations from some Save Our Canyons experts [and] staff about Utah’s native plants [and] plants native to the Wasatch mountains and you can learn a little bit more all about save our canyons and what we do on the day to day,” said Spencer Shaver, the executive director of Save Our Canyons.
