Longtime “CBS Sunday Morning” host Charles Osgood dies at age 91

CBS News journalist Charles Osgood, the host of “CBS Sunday Morning” for more than two decades, died Tuesday at 91 years old. According to CBS News, Osgood was living with dementia for a period of time before his death.

Osgood spent 45 years at CBS News before retiring in 2016. During his tenure at “Sunday Morning”, the show reached some of its highest ratings levels in three decades, and earned the Daytime Emmy as Outstanding Morning Program on three different occasions. His tenure on “Sunday Morning” was in fact longer than the show’s original host, Charles Kuralt. John Travolta ‘proud’ to host Harry – 40 years after dancefloor spin with Diana

John Travolta has spoken of his pride at hosting Britain’s Prince Harry at an aviation awards ceremony, almost 40 years after he danced with his mother at the White House.

Harry and the Grease star were pictured together at the Living Legends of Aviation ceremony in Los Angeles, hosted by the aviation ambassador and keen pilot (69).

Harry was recognised for his work as a British army veteran and pilot at the ceremony and in his speech he told Travolta it would be fitting for them to fly together after the actor famously spun his mother, Princess Diana, around the dancefloor.

He said: “I was just a one-year-old when you danced with my mum at the White House, and now look at us. The only thing left to do is… not dance together but fly together.”

Eastern Romania: Iași to host events dedicated to 165th anniversary of Union of Romanian Principalities

Iași, in eastern Romania, is set to host a series of events dedicated to the 165th anniversary of the Union of the Romanian Principalities, celebrated on January 24.

“165 years ago, through the Union of the Principalities, Romanians decided to emerge from old times to build a great, beautiful, and prosperous country. In 1859, Iași – understanding its historical mission – renounced its official status as the Capital of Moldavia to lay the foundations of the Romanian state,” said mayor Mihai Chirica cited by the Facebook page of the Iași City Hall.

Naxos to host center dedicated to the study of Cycladic civilization

A center dedicated to the study of the Cycladic civilization is being established on the island of Naxos. Slated for completion in 2026, it will specifically focus on investigating the origin and authenticity of Cycladic artifacts.

UNC, Greeley officials to host open house on e-scooter, e-bike pilot program planned for this summer – Greeley Tribune

University of Northern Colorado and Greeley city officials will host an open house next week to provide more information about the city’s planned pilot program for shared e-scooters and e-bikes on campus and in downtown Greeley.

The city is proposing to launch a one-year pilot program starting in July for community members to access the shared devices across the designated mobility zone, which reaches east of 35th Avenue to the Union Pacific Railroad tracks and north of U.S. 34 to 5th Street, with an extension north to A Street at 14th Avenue.

The open house will run from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the University of Northern Colorado’s University Center, 2101 10th Ave., in Columbine Suite A.
