Ryan Seacrest makes ‘Wheel of Fortune’ host debut, kicks off new era with Vanna White

Ryan Seacrest has kicked off a new era of “Wheel of Fortune” with his co-host, Vanna White.

Seacrest made his debut Monday for season 42 of the iconic game show and began the show by walking out on the new set with White.

“So happy to be here with you,” Seacrest told White. “Let’s have fun.”

Seacrest then received a warm greeting from the contestants before welcoming the in-studio audience and those watching at home to “Wheel of Fortune.”

Top Gear host feared show 'wouldn't end well' after Freddie Flintoff became presenter


A former Top Gear host has shared concerns he had that the show “wouldn’t end well” after the BBC announced that Paddy McGuinness and Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff were joining as new presenters.

Rory Reid, 44, explained that he had worried that putting TV and sports stars in the driving seat “could be a problem” as they didn’t have the driving experience “be able to do some of the things the BBC was asking me to do”.

It comes after TV presenter and former England cricketer Flintoff, 46, was badly hurt in an accident while filming at Dunsfold Aerodrome in December 2022, which led to the show being rested for the “foreseeable future” by the BBC.

Simsbury-Based Pediatric Cancer Charity To Host Major Event In Avon

SIMSBURY/AVON, CT — A Simsbury-based charity dedicated to fighting pediatric cancer is having a special event in Avon next week.

Vie for the Kids, an all-volunteer charity working to improve pediatric cancer treatment options and outcomes, is hosting the second annual Gold Ribbon Dinner on Saturday, Sept. 14, at the Golf Club of Avon, 160 Country Club Road, Avon.

More than 100 guests attended last year’s event, and raised $10,000, which went directly to where it is needed the most–the pediatric oncology clinic at Connecticut Children’s in Hartford.

Since 2007, Vie for the Kids has organized and hosted a variety of fundraising events across the
Farmington Valley and it has raised over $1 million.
