Global Launch of Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile Set for March 2024

Activision has set March 21, 2024, as the global launch date for Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile. This highly anticipated release will be available on both iOS and Android platforms. The game, which was first announced in September 2022, is a collaborative effort involving Activision’s Shanghai Studios, Beenox, Digital Legends, and Solid State Studios.

Following its initial limited release in Australia in November 2022, the game expanded to other countries such as Chile, Norway, and Sweden last year. It has since attracted over 50 million pre-registrations from eager fans around the world.

Plans to boost mobile coverage in one of Wales’ worst-served areas

The Shared Rural Network is set to improve 4G coverage in one Welsh county to address the urban-rural divide so that customers from all mobile networks benefit.

The demand for faster internet speeds and better connectivity shows no signs of slowing, with Carmarthenshire residents increasingly reliant on digital infrastructure for both work and everyday life.

Despite the requirement for mobile connectivity as a daily necessity, the urban-rural digital divide still poses a challenge locally, however there are plans in the pipeline for this to be addressed.

Mobile launches dedicated Nigerian server 

The news:

  • Call of Duty: Mobile has given Nigerian players a dedicated server. 
  • Gameplay in the country has gotten faster since the new server launch was announced on December 1, 2023.
  • Some players have reported seeing play speeds of up to 30 milliseconds. 

Nigerian players have been clamouring for a dedicated server for some time now. Even Irish pro player, iFerg joined the campaign for a Nigerian Call of Duty: Mobile (CODM) server. 

The news was confirmed by South African game publisher Carry1st who secured a $27 million pre-Series B earlier this year.

Carry1st partners with Activision to bring Call of Duty: Mobile servers to Nigeria – MyBroadband

Nigerian gamers woke up experiencing accelerated ping speeds on Friday, thanks to a recently deployed dedicated server for the game – which looks to service West African players.

Some gamers have experienced ping speeds as fast as 20-milliseconds – with mobile games publisher Carry1st confirming the news on X and to the My Broadband team.

The news comes on the back of a successful server launch and local campaign in South Africa in 2022.

Carry1st’s involvement, which featured events at Comic Con Africa and rapper Nasty C’s Ivyson Gaming Tournament, led to rapid growth in player base and engagement, with Call of Duty: Mobile almost doubling its active users in the region.
