Rumors abounded this week when Parler moved its domain name to Sammamish-based web-hosting company Epik.

Amazon Web Services kicked the controversial social media site off of its servers last weekend after some of its users called for violence against the government prior to the storming of the U.S. Capitol.

In an exclusive interview with KIRO Radio, Epik said they don’t…

Parler May Have New Host

After Amazon suspended Parler’s web hosting account following the Capitol protests, the conservative-leaning social network may have landed a new home with Epik. But whether the app will come back online remains unknown.

The alternative social media app registered its domain with Epik on Monday, according to public records. Epik, a domain registrar and web hosting service indicated in a statement it had no communications with Parler prior to the move.

Despite possibly having a new hosting platform, in a Wednesday interview with Reuters, Parler CEO John Matze said he didn’t know when or if the service would return.

Amazon.com Inc. says Parler LLC isn’t only dangerous to law and order in the nation’s capital, but to the tech giant’s own staff.

To justify to a judge why it suspended web-hosting service for the conservative social media site, Amazon executives cited threats by Parler users to delivery drivers and staff at the e-commerce giant — as well as concern that Parler failed to police violent content both before and after the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.

A showdown looms Thursday in Seattle federal court over Parler’s complaint that Amazon’s action is a politically loaded attack on an upstart’s efforts to compete with social media behemoths Twitter and Facebook. But even as Parler cries foul that the loss of web-hosting…

Amazon defended its decision to drop Parler from its web hosting service in response to a lawsuit filed by the social media app earlier this week.

In court filings late Tuesday, Amazon said it flagged dozens of pieces of violent content to the social media app starting in November. The company argued that Parler violated its contract with Amazon’s cloud-computing unit, Amazon Web Services (AWS), when it failed to remove the content and that AWS suspended Parler’s account “as a last resort.”

“This case is not about suppressing speech or stifling…
