Podcast Desde La Presidencia dedicated to the school year in Cuba

HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 9 (ACN) With Miguel Diaz-Canel, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the country as host, the 10th program of the podcast Desde La Presidencia, dedicated to the school year, will premiere today.

Entitled A different school year in Cuba, the program will feature the participation of PhDs in science, Naima Trujillo, Minister of Education, and Silvia Navarro, Director General of the Institute of Pedagogical Sciences of the Ministry of Education.

The young teacher Yariel Rodriguez, director of Education of the Havana municipality of Plaza de la Revolucion, will also participate in the debate.

Photo is not from Georgia school shooting – Full Fact

A photograph of a hooded person carrying a gun is being shared on social media with false claims it shows the attacker involved in a school shooting in the US state of Georgia this week.

The image, which depicts a person wearing a hoodie and jeans carrying a weapon in front of a set of double doors, has been shared on X (formerly Twitter), Facebook and Threads with captions linking it to the attack at Apalachee High School on 4 September.

A suspect, identified as Colt Gray, 14, is accused of opening fire at his high school in the city of Winder, killing two teachers and two pupils and injuring another eight pupils and one teacher.

Trenton hosting Summer Lead Awareness event, Back to School Edition Saturday

TRENTON — The City of Trenton Department of Health and Human Services is excited to announce the Summer Lead Awareness Series: Back to School Edition, a community event aimed at raising awareness about the risks of lead exposure as families prepare for the upcoming school year. The event will take place on Saturday, August 10, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Cadwalader Park in the Blacktop Area near the Museum.

Residents of Trenton are encouraged to bring household items that they or their children use daily for onsite lead testing. The city will provide free testing for a range of items, including but not limited to:

Wickliffe salon hosting Back to School Bash

Movmi, in collaboration with EIT Urban Mobility and Loud Mobility, is to host a three-day shared mobility summer school in London, UK.

From Mindshift to Modeshift takes place 20-22 August, 2024, and is designed for urban transportation professionals and to address critical aspects of shared mobility, future growth potential and behaviour change.

The programme will comprise a mixture of theoretical knowledge, practical insights, and networking opportunities with senior professionals, policymakers, and local experts.
