Ryan Tubridy stays silent on Oliver Callan announcement as presenter enjoys 'quiet' weekend away

Ryan Tubridy remained silent as news emerged that Oliver Callan would be taking over his former Radio One slot on RTÉ.

The ex-Late Late Show presenter escaped to Cornwall for a “quiet” weekend away since moving to London.

But the Virgin Radio presenter remained silent when approached for comment by us regarding RTE’s latest hiring.

Instead, he spent the weekend updating his fans on his UK travels.

The 50-year-old got the train to Penzance and had a few pints in the 17th century pub, Admiral Benbow.

He then enjoyed some sightseeing at the Minack Theatre which is a world famous open-air venue, carved into the granite cliff that overlooks Porthcurno Bay.

Kensington & Chelsea residents not given £3,000 for weekend trip to avoid Notting Hill Carnival

A post on Twitter, now known as X, that has been shared more than 800 times says: “Is anybody aware that every year when [Notting Hill carnival] is on the HOME OWNERS of Kensington & Chelsea borough are given £3k per household to go away for the weekend because of the “inconvenience” carnival brings them. Ever since I found out I’ve been flabbergasted.”

This council told us this is not the case.

There is a scheme run by the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea in collaboration with Age UK, in which older residents on the carnival route can apply to go on a free seaside break.
