A graphic shared on X (formerly Twitter) by Reform UK leader Richard Tice claims Rishi Sunak “welcomed more migrants in just two years” than arrived “between 1066 and 2010”.

This is not true.

Assuming “two years” refers to the last two years of immigration data (the year ending December 2022 and the year ending December 2023)—which overlap partially with Mr Sunak’s premiership—long-term immigration to the UK was an estimated 2,475,000.

We’ve not found immigration data going back to 1066—and we’ve asked Reform UK what the evidence for its claim is. There is a time and a place for most of these leadership approaches, although without a doubt “softer” skills are considered to be increasingly valuable in today’s leaders. Real power now emanates from being able to inspire, not force. With less awe for authority, people need to believe that what they are being asked to do is worthwhile before they, in turn, commit.

Marking 50 years since the BC Summer Games were first held in Penticton, the games are returning to the city for their anniversary in 2028.

Kamloops, the original host of the BC Winter Games, will also once again host the event in February of 2028.

Hundreds of student athletes from across B.C. in every geographic zone of the province will come to the two communities to showcase their talent and build connections with their fellow competitors.
