Clarivate To Score $302M In Web Deal Guided By Sidley

By Irene Madongo (September 12, 2022, 8:45 PM BST) — British analytics firm Clarivate PLC on Monday said U.S. web developer Newfold Digital has agreed to buy its subsidiary domain management business MarkMonitor under a deal in which it nets $302.5 million.

Sidley Austin LLP advised Clarivate on its deal, which the London-headquartered company said would yield nearly $303 million in cash proceeds. The MarkMonitor team will join Newfold, which is being advised by Blank Rome LLP, as part of the transaction.

Gordon Samson, chief product officer at Clarivate, said Newfold — which is headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida, — is a “natural fit” for MarkMonitor.
