Pakistan’s participation in World Cup in India still uncertain as board awaits busy govt’s nod

Pakistan’s participation in the upcoming 50-over World Cup in India remains uncertain as it is subject to government approval, according to Najam Sethi, Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Sethi stated that the PCB has written to the International Cricket Council (ICC) to clarify that they cannot unilaterally approve the fixture list released last week.

“We have written to the ICC that we can’t give approval or disapproval to this (World Cup schedule),” ESPN cricinfo cited Sethi. “It’s our government who has to decide, just like when it comes to India, it’s their government that decides when they go to play.
