Jeopardy! fans were shocked when Mayim Bialik announced that she had been “informed by Sony” that she would no longer be performing hosting duties on the iconic game show last month. However, her sudden departure from the show did not prevent her from showing her love and support of the series as she celebrated its recent Emmy win for Outstanding Game Show.

Taking to her Instagram account, Bialik wrote:

Sadly, for those who have aligned themselves with Mayim Bialik’s question-asking skills on Jeopardy!, it was announced at the tail end of 2023 that she wouldn’t be returning to the show at all, with Ken Jennings becoming the permanently single host of the program. Sharing her side of the story with her Instagram goodbye, Bialik’s mid-December post stated that Sony, the studio behind the fan-favorite game show, had essentially cut her contract, firing her from the syndicated series.

Mayim Bialik has also been quite busy with her weekly podcast, Mayim Bialik’s Breakdown, since her departure from Jeopardy!.

Leaning into her background in neuroscience, she sits down with notable guest co-hosts like Frankie Muniz and John Stamos, and talks at length about mental health issues and emotional well-being.

Covering a wide range of topics like coping with ADHD, letting go of grudges, ego-based fear, and substance abuse, the show takes a profound deep-dive into the human brain while offering practical advice to its listeners.

Ken Jennings is breaking his silence about the departure of his former “Jeopardy!” co-host, Mayim Bialik.

Bialik, who took over shared hosting duties for the beloved game show with Jennings after longtime host Alex Trebek died in 2020, announced earlier this month that she was leaving the show. Now, Jennings is sharing that the news took him by surprise.

“It took me off guard, because I loved working with my Mayim, and I’m gonna miss her,” he said in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “I can’t speak to her decision-making process or her opinions about it.”
