The source code and database of DDoS-Guard, the web hosting platform of the controversial social media company Parler has apparently been posted for sale online.

Amazon Web Services (AWS), the original hosting provider for the beleaguered social network, pulled the plug earlier this year over apparent insufficiencies in Parler’s content moderation policy.

Parler drops Amazon web-hosting legal challenge

Parler has withdrawn its antitrust action against Amazon, two months after filing the case against the tech giant.

The website was removed from Amazon’s Web Services (AWS) hosting platform in January for violating its rules.

Parler brands itself as a “free speech” social network and the platform is popular with far-right supporters.

It has now dropped the case, without providing an explanation, but “without prejudice to refiling” it in the future.

Amazon suspended use of its platform after the rioting on Capitol Hill, following the US presidential election.

It claimed it had discovered 98 posts on Parler that encouraged violence, and notified the social network about them.

  • Parler, popular with right-wing conservatives, relaunched its social media platform on Monday with assurances over “sustainable, independent technology,” CNBC reports.
  • Web infrastructure company SkySilk CEO confirmed that it is hosting Parler, NPR reports. The company had deployed a “privacy-preserving process” with AI and human moderators and a “trolling filter” to counter the alleged violent content.

Parler Is Back Online With LA-Based Web Hosting Company After Being Rejected By Big Tech – CBS Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) — Social media network Parler, which had been offline for nearly a month following backlash over allegedly promoting violent language around the time of the U.S. Capitol riot, was back online as of Monday.

Data from the website showed that it is connected to a Cleveland, Ohio firm called CloudRoute and Los Angeles web hosting company SkySilk Cloud.

SkySilk Cloud released a statement on Twitter, saying “much of the online community is aware” of its partnership with Parler and that it “does not advocate nor condone hate.”
